P0110
Intake air temperature
(IAT) sensor circuit malfunction - air filter box
Detection Conditions
- The signal from the intake air temperature sensor to
the ECU falls
below 0.1V or rises above 4.9V
- The intake air temperature reads higher than the
engine coolant temperature by more than 40 degrees C while the
ignition is in the ON position
Diagnostic Support Notes
- This is a continuous monitor (CCM)
- Check engine indicator illuminates if ECU detects the
above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle
- PENDING CODE data is not available
- FREEZE FRAME DATA is available
- DTC is stored in ECU memory
Possible Causes
- Intake air temperature sensor malfunction
- Short to ground circuit between IAT sensor terminal A
and ECU
- IAT signal circuit and IAT ground circuit are shorted
- Poor connection at IAT sensor or ECU connector
- ECU malfunction
- Open circuit between IAT sensor terminal A and ECU
- Short to power circuit between IAT sensor terminal A
and ECU
- Open circuit between IAT sensor terminal B and ECU
- Short to power circuit between IAT sensor terminal B
and ECU
