Symptom #15 - Engine overheats

Description

• Engine runs at higher than normal temperature/overheats.

Possible Causes

• Improper coolant level
• Coolant leakage
• Improper water/anti-freeze mixture
• Poor radiator condition
• Damaged radiator hoes
• Improper or damaged radiator cap
• Malfunction of coolant overflow system parts
• Drive belt damage
• Blown fuses (cooling fans)
• Excessive pressure of A/C system
• Fans reverse rotation (fan motor malfunction)
• Thermostat malfunction
• Condenser fan is inoperative
• Main cooling fan is inoperative
• Improper tension of drive belt
• Relays are inoperative
• Water pump is inoperative
• Short to ground circuit between check engine indicator and ECU
